The Washington Commanders, the biggest upset victims last week, take on the Dallas Cowboys in the second of three Thanksgiving Day games on the Week 12 NFL docket Thursday.

The Cowboys, 7-3 and coming off two blowout victories as a double-digit favorite, were listed as an 11-point choice over the Commanders (4-7) when odds were posted for this game Sunday evening. The game opened with the largest point spread on the Week 12 card. The over/under total opened 45.

The current line is Cowboys , with a total of . The Commanders can be had for on the moneyline.

On the ATS chart, the Cowboys are 7-3 overall, including a 2-1 mark as a double-digit favorite. At home, they are 4-0 ATS. The Commanders are 5-5-1, but a surprising 5-1 on the road.

On the O/U board, the Commanders have gone over in six of 11 games. The Cowboys have gone over in six of 10. This is the only Week 12 matchup pitting teams that have gone "over' more than "under."

Betting odds for Commanders vs. Cowboys on NFL's Thanksgiving Day slate: Point spread, moneyline, total

Here's the latest NFL betting odds for Commanders vs. Cowboys:

Two of the most prolific passing teams in the league will be tangling for the first time this season.

Washington's Sam Howell leads the league in passing yards and interceptions with 12. He'll square off against Dallas' Dak Prescott, who has averaged 318 air yards in his past four outings.

It'll be Howell's first game against the Cowboys since making his starting debut in last season's finale. That 26-6 Washington victory came at home against a Dallas team desperate for a win to keep its division title hopes alive.

Prescott was only 14-for-37 passing, and his completion percentage of 37.8 was by far the worst for any game in his eight-year career. But that was against a Commanders team that ranked third on defense. This year's unit is 29th.

Commanders betting news

Washington is one of six league teams that hasn't had its bye and the only one of that group to be playing on short rest Thursday.

In last week's 31-19 home loss to the New York Giants as a 7.5-point choice, Howell threw three INTs. His ball security issues have certainly contributed to the team's minus-6 turnover differential, the worst for any team this season.

On the positive side, Washington finished nine sacks on Giants QB Tommy DeVito. But the Commanders also yielded three TD passes to the undrafted rookie making his second career start. Over the past seven years, no team had that many sacks in a game and was defeated.

Cowboys betting news

The Cowboys will be going for their 13th straight home victory (9-3 ATS during that stretch) against a team surely demoralized after last week's dismal offensive performance against a team Dallas has beaten twice this season by a combined 89-17.

Prescott's favorite target this season has been CeeDee Lamb, who is third in the league with 1,013 receiving yards this season. Before he injured an ankle last week in a 33-10 win over Carolina, he averaged 154 receiving yards over his previous four games.

No. 2 WR Brandin Cooks has also thrived recently, with 173 yards two weeks ago vs. NYG. That's the second most he's had in a game in his 10-year career.

Commanders vs. Cowboys predictions

The Commanders are one of the league's most unpredictable teams. The underdog in their matchups has won outright six times. And those outings don't include the two in which underdog Washington grabbled double-digit leads against powerhouse Philadelphia before tumbling.

The defenses of Washington and Dallas can terrorize QBs, ranking in the top six in sacks. But units have twice enabled enemy passers to produce a passer rating of 130-plus (Philly's Jalen Hurts and DeVito vs. Washington; SF's Brock Purdy and Hurts vs. Dallas). No team has allowed more than two such games.

Speaking of unpredictable, the Cowboys are the only double-digit favorite this season to lose a game outright vs. Arizona, but that was on the road.

Also, Dallas CB DaRon Bland could set the NFL record with five pick-sixes in one season. Bland has a shot against a QB throwing the most INTs this year.

Prediction: Cowboys and OVER
