Australia has qualified for the 2023 Davis Cup Final with a 2-0 win over Finland in the semis.

Playing in Malaga, Spain overnight (AEDT), Alexei Popyrin and Alex de Minaur both won their singles rubbers to see the Aussie team through to the decider.

Italy and Serbia will play off in the other semi final in the early hours of Sunday morning (AEDT).

After needing a stunning de Minaur comeback to stay alive against Czechia earlier in the week, Lleyton Hewitt's team had it significantly easier this time around.

Popyrin took on world number 171 Otto Virtanen in the opener, defeating him 7-6(5) 6-2.

Australia's main man de Minaur then faced Emil Ruusuvuori, ranked 69th, and got the job done in straight sets, 6-4 6-3.

Australia can expect to have a much tougher assignment in the Final, which is due to begin at 2am AEDT on Monday morning.

Serbia, led by Novak Djokovic, defeated Great Britain 2-0 in the quarters, while Italy's Jannik Sinner helped them to a 2-1 win over the Netherlands.

Australia will be hoping to go one better than they did last year after they went down to Canada in the Final.

Should they be crowned champions, it will be Australia's first Davis Cup title since 2003.
