The 6-4 Pittsburgh Steelers, who recently dismissed their offensive coordinator, will play the Cincinnati Bengals (5-5) in Week 12 NFL AFC action on Sunday afternoon. Pittsburgh is in possession of the final AFC Wild Card spot, so this AFC North game will direct the postseason race.

The Westgate SuperBook in Las Vegas opened the game Bengals -2.5, but it didn't take long for the betting market to move in the Steelers' direction. The current point spread is Steelers , with a total of . The Bengals can be had for on the moneyline.

There have been only two games this season with an OVER/UNDER that closed at 34.5 or lower, and both stayed UNDER their totals. UNDER 34.5 cashed in the Jets' 13-10 win over the Giants in Week 8, and the Browns' 13-10 victory against Steelers last week didn't come close to the 33.

Against the spread, the Steelers have a 6-4 record. The Bengals' are 4-5-1 ATS.

On the O/U boards, Cincinnati games have gone OVER in five of 10 outings. The Steelers have had only two games go OVER in 10 games. In games with an O/U total of less than 40, bettors of the "UNDER" have cashed in 18 times in 30 games.

Steelers vs. Bengals: Point spread, moneyline, total for Week 12 matchup

Here's the latest NFL betting odds for Steelers vs. Bengals:

The Bengals' new starting quarterback is Jake Browning, who went undrafted in 2019 out of the University of Washington and bounced around on practice squads until this year. He beat out Trevor Siemian for the backup role in Cincinnati this summer.

Browning was a four-year starter for the Huskies. He finished sixth in the Heisman Trophy balloting with 43 TDs and nine interceptions as a sophomore.

Steeler Nation rejoiced as Matt Canada was fired as the offensive coordinator in Pittsburgh this week. Taking over the role will be the tandem of QBs coach Mike Sullivan and running backs coach Eddie Faulkner.

In Canada's three seasons at OC, the Steelers never gained 400 yards in a game. By contrast, Miami has averaged 434 yards an outing this season.

Steelers vs. Bengals injury report

Here is the current injury report for the Steelers vs. Bengals:

Pittsburgh is hoping to get back free safety Minkah Fitzpatrick. He's a three-time first-team All-Pro but has missed the past three games.

For Cincinnati, besides Burrow, the Bengals could be without top DB Cam Taylor-Britt, who has been struggling for weeks with a quadriceps injury. He is day-to-day.

Steelers betting news

This will be the third time in four weeks that Pittsburgh will face a first-year quarterback making his second start.

Last week, Cleveland's Dorian Thompson-Robinson averaged only 3.8 yards a pass in that Browns victory.

Two weeks earlier, it was Tennessee's Will Levis. Levis was shut out from the endzone and was sacked four times. The Steelers won, 20-16.

It's been widely noted Pittsburgh is the first team in league history to have a winning record through 10 games yet be outgained in each game. Also, opponents are averaging 9.1 more offensive plays than Pittsburgh, the worst differential in the league.

The Steelers are on pace to run 154 fewer plays than their foes. In 2022, however, Pittsburgh had an 85-play advantage, the fourth-best margin in the league.

Bengals betting news

The combination of the Bengals' Week 11 34-20 loss at Baltimore last Thursday and Burrow's season-ending injury sent the team's futures odds soaring.

Cincinnati entered that game with Super Bowl odds of +1800 and division odds at -120. But nowadays, the Bengals' Super odds are , and their odds to win the North are .

For bettors with faith in Browning, now would be the time to jump on the Bengals' empty bandwagon. After all, Cincinnati is only one game out of a wild-card slot.

Steelers vs. Bengals predictions

It's hard to back the Browning-led Bengals after what the Steelers did to Levis and Thompson-Robinson in recent weeks.

With the change at OC, the Steelers can be counted on to let it rip more often and get leading receiver George Pickens more involved. He's averaging a team-high 16.3 yards a catch but only 6.8 targets a game.

New first-team RB Jaylen Warren has produced 9.1 yards a carry on 35 rushes in the past three weeks. Finally, Pittsburgh's ground game should help QB Kenny Pickett work play-action more effectively. Warren had a league-best 129 rushing yards last week.

Plus, if Fitzpatrick rejoins the Steelers' secondary, that will make it harder for Browning to succeed, especially if WR Tee Higgins has to miss his third straight game.

Prediction: Steelers and UNDER
