Max Verstappen has made a mockery of Formula One competition this season by winning 17 of 20 races staged so far. The Red Bull Racing driver clinched his third F1 world championship more than a month ago in Qatar.

The good news for the competition heading into Sunday's Las Vegas Grand Prix is Verstappen's no fan of the new track or event.

“I think it is 99% show, 1% sport,” Verstappen told Reuters. “They [Formula One] still make money if I like it or not, so it is not up to me.

“But I’m not going to fake it. I always voice my opinion in positive things, in negative things, that’s just how I am. It’s not really my thing. Some people like a show, I don’t like it at all.”

This looks like a good week to fade Verstappen, and we're looking for the best props available at BetMGM to capitalize on that.

Las Vegas Grand Prix odds for top contenders

Verstappen is the betting favorite for Sunday's Las Vegas Grand Prix, which features a starting grid of 20 drivers competing on a 3.8-mile street circuit. Here are odds for top contenders at BetMGM. Verstappen, who opened at -350, has taken a majority of the handle to win at 34.5%.

  • Max Verstappen (-250)
  • Charles Leclerc (+450)
  • Lando Norris (+1000)
  • Sergio Perez (+1200)
  • Lewis Hamilton (+1800)
  • Fernando Alonso (+2500)
  • Carlos Sainz Jr. (+4000)
  • George Russell (+4000)
  • Oscar Piastri (+5000)

The remaining drivers in the field are priced at +15000 or longer.

Best Las Vegas Grand Prix prop to bet against Max Verstappen

Verstappen typically heads into a race weekend with the fastest car and plenty of experience at any given track. That's obviously not the case at Las Vegas, which last hosted an F1 event in 1982.

The Vegas street course reportedly vexed Verstappen, who finished the second practice session sixth on the speed chart. The first session was cancelled early due to a loose drain cover that caused damage to two cars. Seriously, and the second session ended after 4 a.m. local time.

Let's fire on this prop to fade Verstappen in Sunday's Las Vegas Grand Prix.

Any other driver to win race vs. Verstappen (+190)

McClaren driver Lando Norris has six second-place finishes this season, and he's coming off a runner-up effort in the São Paulo Grand Prix. Is his breakout win coming in Sin City on Sunday?

A lot of BetMGM patrons think so, as Norris (15.9%) had the most amount of tickets written on him to win heading into the weekend.

Next on that list came Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton. The seven-time F1 champion finished ninth in the only completed practice, so there's some work to do ahead of Sunday.

Scuderia Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc led that lone practice session. Leclerc has gone from opening odds of +2200 to +500 at BetMGM. Bottom line: There are plenty of drivers who can threaten Verstappen for the win, and you can nearly double your money at these odds.

Good luck with your bets and staying awake for the Las Vegas Grand Prix, which starts at 1 a.m. ET on Sunday.
