If you feel a little déjà vu reading about this game, that’s okay because you should. The Spurs and Suns played Tuesday night in Phoenix, and thanks to the scheduling gods, they play there again Thursday night at the Footprint Center.

San Antonio stole the win, 115-114, in the final seconds of the game on Tuesday. Victor Wembanyama got off to a slow start but bounced back well and finished the night with 18 points, eight rebounds, and four blocks.

Spurs vs. Suns player props: All about Wembanyama

No game is about one player, but many fans and bettors are interested in this game because of Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama. Here are some Wembanyama player props to mull ahead of Thursday's tip:

  • Total blocks:
  • Points + rebounds:
  • Three-pointers:

At times, Wembanyama has looked like a rookie. On Tuesday night, for example, he missed his first five shots from the floor. But then a sensational dunk that got him on the board late in the first half spoke to his potential.

He ended the night with 18 points, eight rebounds, one assist, and four blocks. What bettors need to decide is whether they think he’ll be a little more comfortable Thursday night or if the Suns will have a better plan to defend him.

Wemby is going to get better and more consistent with each game he plays.

Wembanyama props predictions vs. Suns on Thursday night

Wembanyama is a shot blocker. With Kevin Durant leading the way, the Suns are an offensive-minded team that will take a fair number of shots. They rank in the bottom 10 in field goals attempted per game this season but were inside the top 10 last season.

Take the Over on his total blocks.

While Wembanyama has not been putting up crazy high numbers in any category, he has been solid in several. If the Suns were at full strength (Bradley Beal is out; Devin Booker is questionable), he might struggle to hit baskets and/or pull down rebounds.

Since they will probably not be in the lineup, the possibility that Wembanyama has a great night is higher.

He was a good three-point shooter in France, but that skill has not translated to the NBA yet. In his four games, he has gone 3-5, 0-6, 0-2, 2-6 from behind the arc. Opponents are shooting 28.1% from three-point range against the Suns, and San Antonio is not a solid three-point team. Take the Under on his total 3s made.

At this stage of his career, it may not be wise to expect Wembanyama to generate a lot of stats but to hit the Over on points + rebounds, he does not need an extraordinary night. He just needs a decent night.

Victor Wembanyama same-game parlay to consider

While the large potential payouts of same-game parlays can be tempting, it's important for bettors to realize the sportsbooks price even larger edges into SGPs than single-leg bets. Still, it can be fun to take a shot on a SGP or two.

Here's one we're eyeing for Wembanyama on Thursday vs. the Suns:

  • Total blocks, over 1.5 -155
  • Total three-pointers, under 1.5 -111
  • Same game parlay odds: +238

He is still adjusting to the NBA game, but as long as his blocks total is just 1.5, take the Over every time. As for his three-pointers, while he is a good shooter, it will likely be more challenging for that part of his game to adjust than anything else.

A $100 wager will result in a $331 payday, your stake plus $231 in winnings.

Spurs vs. Suns analysis and ATS pick

Phoenix led throughout Tuesday’s matchup until Keldon Johnson hit the game-winner for San Antonio with 1.2 seconds left. The Suns led by 18 points at the half and were down by as much as 20 points before the comeback trail picked up steam.

You could blame the loss on the Suns for slacking off because they thought they had the game in the bag. Or credit the Spurs coaching staff for making adjustments during the game and getting things turned around.

Perhaps San Antonio’s talented young team is starting to gel. It is hard to say after just four games.

As for the Suns, they are not at full strength, with Beal out and Booker questionable for Thursday's game. That leaves Durant to pick up the slack or for someone else, i.e., Eric Gordon, Grayson Allen, etc., to do so.

They did an excellent job of it on Tuesday, combining to go 9-16 from three-point range.

Kevin Durant is enough for the Suns to win this game without Beal and/or Booker. But don’t count on the game being a blowout. The Spurs will keep it close.
