One of the most popular fighters in the PFL today is Sadibou Sy, who faces Magomed Magomedkerimov for the second time in the 2023 PFL World Championship Finals on November 24. The finals take place in Washington D.C. and will air on ESPN+ in the U.S.

Sy lost to Magomedkerimov via unanimous decision in the welterweight semi-finals in 2021. Since then, he has won seven fights in a row, including a highlight knockout over Shane Mitchell. Magomedkerimov, who lost in the finals in 2021, has won five fights since and beat Solomon Renfro to advance this year. A wrestler, Magomedkerimov can drag his opponent whenever he likes. Is that something Sy is ready for?

“I hope he will,” Sy told Yahoo about the fight hitting the floor. “Because for me, I want to fight him (there) because I want to show myself that not only is he not going to be able to outgrapple or outwrestle me, I’m going to outwrestle him.

"To be able to work on something and see improvements and see that it works, that’s why I started this. Like I said in the previous question with Magomed, if he’s going to wrestle, I want to be able to see like, OK, how’s my wrestling today compared to two years ago? Those things excite me.”

Other championship fights with familiar faces on the card include 2022 lightweight winner Olivier Aubin-Mercier vs. Clay Collard and lightweight champion Larissa Pacheco facing Marina Mokhnatkina in a featherweight contest.
