San Antonio Spurs rookie Victor Wembanyama has been at the center of the media cycle this season, and fans get another look at him tonight in Madison Square Garden. The Garden is widely considered the mecca of basketball, and Wembanyama’s first appearance will surely attract some betting action.

The Spurs and Knicks each enter with a 3-4 record and are looking to get back to .500 with a win. The Knicks () are favored at home Wednesday night, but Wembanyama has already proven he can take over a game and steal a road win. Wembanyama's presence sets up plenty of interesting wagers for tonight’s action, including Wembanyama's props.

Let's dive into the Spurs vs. Knicks odds, props, and predictions.

Odds for Spurs vs. Knicks: Point spread, moneyline, total

The Knicks won last season's meeting at home 117-114 as 10-point favorites, while the Spurs took the game in San Antonio 122-115 as 4.5-point underdogs.

New York is 4-3 against the spread this year, but its offense doesn’t quite measure up to that of the Spurs this season.

Here are the betting lines for the primetime matchup with odds from the top sports betting apps in the US:

Spurs vs. Knicks betting trends

  • The Spurs last won in New York during the 2019 season (Nov. 23), 111-104
  • The Spurs are 3-4 SU, 3-4-0 ATS, 2-2 SU, and 2-2 ATS on the road; last season, New York was 45-35 SU, 44-34-4
  • The Knicks are 3-4 SU, 3-2-2 ATS; 1-2 SU and 1-1-1 ATS at home; last season, San Antonio was 22-60 SU, 33-49-0
  • The Spurs have a 1-1 ATS against 9.5+ point spreads this season
  • The Knicks are 1-6 on the OVER/UNDER for the season; the Spurs are 6-1 on the OVER/UNDER this season

Victor Wembanyama props vs. Knicks

Wembanyama has been up and down this year as he looks to establish his presence on the young Spurs team. He is coming off his worst season performance on Monday, compiling 13 points on 25% from the field.

That performance is more attributed to a bad overall team outing than a great defensive effort from the Pacers, as they routed the Spurs 152-111.

With a matchup in the Garden on the schedule for Wednesday, the Spurs will bring their best. Although early in the season, they are at their best when Wembanyama is featured.

He’ll face off with seven-footer Mitchell Robinson, who mans the middle with the best big guys in the league.

Here are some top picks for the Spurs’ rookie from top sports betting sites.

  • 3+ made threes : Although he is one of the better rim defenders in the league, Robinson’s impact isn’t nearly the same out on the perimeter. He hesitates to come out far enough to defend the long ball when put in pick-and-roll situations. That led to four three-pointers for Brook Lopez when they played the Bucks, and thanks to his shooting abilities, Wembanyama has a great chance of producing similar success.
  • UNDER rebounds: Wembanyama has compiled at least nine boards in his last three games. However, he did it in overtime, limited play against the opposing big man, or in a blowout. Both the Knicks and Spurs are on the lower end of the spectrum in offensive pace, so there won’t be many shots going up, which limits his opportunities, especially since Robinson also plays heavy minutes for the Knicks and dominates the boards.
  • OVER points: The three-point shot will make all the difference for the Spurs’ big man in this one. Robinson struggles to commit to deep contests, which should give Wembanyama multiple quality looks from deep. With the three-point battle leaning in his favor, he’ll have an extra boost on this betting line tonight.

Spurs vs. Knicks analysis: Knicks defense too much for young Spurs team

The Knicks make their name on the defensive end of the court, allowing the second-fewest points per game. The Spurs are the polar opposite, averaging the 14th-most points per game and an offensive pace three percentage points better than the Knicks.

However, the Knicks have already faced some of the most potent NBA offenses and held them to average nights.

With a young Spurs team coming to the Garden, they shouldn’t have too much of a challenge limiting their offensive production. The Spurs play well together, but outside of an explosive night from Webanyama, no one can create enough penetration to break down the Knicks’ defense consistently to make this a tighter contest.

The Knicks' challenge this season has been the offense. They played six of their seven games without one of the better scorers in RJ Barrett, who returned on Monday to help lead the team over the Clippers.

Barrett, Julius Randle, and Jalen Brunson should be able to score enough to accommodate their elite defense against the Spurs. That’s especially since San Antonio is a bottom-10 team in points allowed in the paint, where Barrett and Randle thrive.

Spurs vs. Knicks predictions and bets to consider

The Spurs were embarrassed in their last game and will likely come out much more focused. That may be good enough to keep them from being run off the floor yet again but not enough to help them overcome the more physical and experienced Knicks team.

Consider taking the Knicks on the spread () in the contest.
